Microsoft has announced their Surface tablet.

Looks like a pretty capable flagship Windows 8 tablet, though a great deal hinges on pricing and timing if Microsoft plans to compete against Apple in this space (they are, however, competing against their own OEMs - one has to wonder how they feel about it).
Also, companies need to stop announcing things until they’re ready to provide a reasonably solid date when people will be able to walk into a store and buy a product.
